JULY 3, 2025 Mt. Hood National Forest, OR: Wylark Mountaineering has been accepted into the A3 Recognized Provider network to offer AIARE Recreational Avalanche Courses. Wylark is among the first AIARE Providers to become independently recognized by the American Avalanche Association (A3) since the two organizations announced over the summer that AIARE Providers would no longer be able to operate under the umbrella of AIARE's Recognized Provider status and receive reciprocity with other avalanche course providers.
The process of becoming an A3 Recognized Provider involves a rigorous assessment of the applicant's risk management systems, verification of land use permits, and verification of instructor credentials.
“Wylark is pleased to announce our acceptance into the A3 Recognized Provider program,” said Alexander Vasarab, Director at Wylark Mountaineering. “Encouraging all AIARE Providers to undergo a risk management review process overseen by the A3 is good for the avalanche industry and course participants alike.”
